Friday 1st June 2018 7.30-9.00pm Sound Journey Meditation Evening

Christian Jensen visits to host a journey through sound. A variety of instruments brought together in one beautiful session. During which various instruments will be played, including, didgeridoo, native american flutes, a beautiful tank drum and hand pan, plus many other smaller instruments to create a unique variety of sound. The sound session will last for up to 1 hour, the perfect way to deep relaxation and an opportunity to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul. Sunday 10 June 2018 4.00-5.30pm Chakradance Workshop  with Andrea Jackson
CHAKRADANCE™ is a well-being movement practice. It uses spontaneous dance, to specific chakra-resonant music, for the purpose of healing and re-tuning your whole energy system. The purpose of Chakradance is simple, if ambitious: to help you to more fully embody your soul.  At the heart of Chakradance is the music. For all of us, the seven major chakras are the energetic gateways through which body, mind and spirit come together, literally embodying the soul.

In Chakradance classes and courses, each of these seven chakras has its own unique body of wonderfully danceable music, resonating to its own specific vibrational frequencies.On one level, Chakradance can be experienced as a joyful affirmation of who you truly are. Using spontaneous dance, creativity and your imagination, it leads to an awakening, a discovery of your true self.

But at a deeper level, Chakradance is also about healing and balance. By surrendering to the music of each chakra, we dance from the inside out and find ourselves awakening and healing ancient hurts; expressing – often for the first time – long-blocked emotions; and opening ourselves up to levels of spiritual connection higher than we ever thought possible.

This is what we mean when we describe Chakradance™ as “rhythm for your soul”. Think of it as a ‘dynamic moving meditation to music’… or as ‘the musical sister of yoga’ (without the set-piece poses or asanas). There is no right or wrong way to move your body. It’s a journey of self-discovery. Each chakra is explored through specific music, guided imagery and your own free, improvised dance, done in a candle-lit space with your eyes softly closed. This begins to activate inner experiences.

Monday 11 June 2018 7.00-8.30pm Psychologies Magazine Monthly Book Club

Psychologies Magazine is the UK's biggest and best selling mindful living magazine, their aim is to give hope, strength and inspiration. Gail, the owner of the business is an ambassador for Psychologies Magazine, Life Coach, Counsellor and Mindfulness Practitioner. She is running this monthly inspirational, self-development club for adults who enjoy the magazine, any members of their life leap club or anyone who would like to read the magazine. It is for 10 like minded people and the discussions surround the current month's articles. The magazine offers lots of self-development and support. The amount is £10 per person per session, including hot drinks and cake. You will need to purchase your magazine before you come/ bring your own magazine. Pre-payment is required to book your space. Monday 18 June Mindfulness Evening Cafe at Oliver's Pantry Ripon 7.00-8.15pm

We are collaborating with Oliver's Pantry, to run monthly evening cafes for people who are feeling overwhelmed, that maybe dip in and out of low mood, or that are perhaps suffering from anxiety. The Cafe sessions give people a chance to share their personal stories, to realise they are not alone and to use Mindfulness techniques to offset stress.
The sessions are facilitated by Gail Donnan owner of The Mindfulspace Wellbeing Company. Gail is a trained Counsellor, Mindfulness Practitioner, Meditation Teacher and Life Coach. The sessions are set in a safe, friendly, non-judgemental, emotionally supportive and respectful environment. Gail has been helping people with anxiety for many years and recognises that it is a modern day illness of our time.
Oliver's Pantry will be closed for the duration of the session, the sessions can accommodate 18 people (to allow time for everyone to speak), guests will need to pre-register by contacting info@mindfulspacemeditation.
The sessions will open and close with brief Mindfulness exercises, have an open dialogue/talking section, a break and a chance to relax with drinks served by Lou Grant, the owner of Oliver's Pantry.
Please bear in mind the meetings are not therapy sessions and if you are currently suffering from serious mental health issues, please contact your GP first. Over 18s only. The sessions are free - however the refreshments are chargeable

Monday 25 June 6.30-7.30pm Mindful Walking

Mindful Walking is a great way to wind down and to offset stress from your day. Mindfulness Practitioner and Meditation Teacher Gail, has been taking Mindful Walking for over a year for Street Wisdom and incorporates the sessions in her Retreats. During the summer and on the light nights, come and spend an hour walking with like minded people and learn how to embed Mindfulness into your life. The walks are generally done in silence, with instructions from Gail in different parts of the walk. There will be short stops to discuss and share experiences. It is ideal for people who perhaps cannot sit for a long period of time to meditate and nature lovers. It is a moving meditation. You will be responsible for your own health and safety at all times and it is compulsory to complete a very short questionnaire on joining. Donations are a minimum of £3 per person to make it accessible to everyone.

​Hypnobirthing is teaching techniques for deep relaxation to a point of self hypnosis. When a calm, relaxed mind and body is at work, instincts kick in and the body knows how to birth a baby! There are relaxation scripts involved in the practice and a lot of antenatal and labour education to help your chances of achieving the birth you wish and overall a positive experience.
